'Jhalak..' learning process for me: Remo D'Souza
Mumbai, May 29: Choreographer-director Remo D' Souza, who is back on the judge's panel of the seventh season of celebrity dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa", says the reason he chose to judge the show is that it's a learning experience for him.
" 'Jhalak...' is a learning process for me as a technician. I get to learn a lot from the choreographers who showcase their talent on the dance floor," Remo said.
Alongside Remo, the show will be co-judged by filmmaker Karan Johar and actress Madhuri Dixit. The contestants range from actors Kritika Kamra, Mouni Roy, Purab Kohli, Karan Tacker, Sophie Choudry, Pooja Banerjee and Ashish Sharma to VJ Andy, professional dancer Shakti Mohan, singer Sukhwinder Singh, comedian Kiku Sharda as Palak and cricketer S. Sreesanth.
The 42-year-old has high expectations from the forthcoming show which will go on air June 7, and he will play a tougher role this time. "As always my expectations are high. I want to see something new every season. I have a lot of expectations from all the celebrities who are participating in the dance show as all of them are good dancers. This season, each of the contestant knows how to dance," said Remo.
"Shakti, Sophie, Sreesanth and especially young boy Akshat, who has a good taste in pure Bollywood dancing styles, are all good dancers. And this time, I'll be tougher and uncompromising towards judging." Talking about the professional dancers in "Jhalak...", like Lauren Gottileb in the last season and Shakti, who won the title of "Dance India Dance", in the forthcoming, Remo said that the show attempts to inspire the contestants to perform better.
" 'Jhalak...' ropes in professional dancers, so that the level of competition is all geared up and that all the contestants feel the heat of the competition, get motivated and prove themselves," he said.

New 'Ek Villain' trailer reveals the film to be a nail biting story

The official trailer of the most keenly anticipated romantic thriller of this season - Ek Villain, from the director of 'Murder 2', 'Raaz 2' and 'Aashiqui 2', Mohit Suri is out.
It seems a riveting tale chart with bursting music, emotions and high drama.
Starring Sidharth Malhotra and Shradha Kapoor in the leading roles along with Ritesh Deshmukh, the film is produced by Ekta Kapoor under her Balaji Motion Pictures banner, the film is said to release in 27th June, 2014. It also marks the first-time pairing of Siddharth and Shraddha.

Surprisingly, Ankit Tiwari who sang the film’s first song “Galliyan Teri Galliyan” is in police custody in a rape case. It has already worked for the negative publicity of the song.

flight
Times of India
After promoting the Telugu version of his upcoming film Ulavacharu Biryani in Hyderabad, Prakash Raj was on his way to Chennai to promote the Tamil version. But onboard a flight, the actor entered into a heated argument with a fellow passenger. It all began when Praksh Raj noticed that the person sitting next to him in the flight was happily clicking away his pictures on his cell phone, without even asking the actor's permission. A miffed Prakash Raj apparently told the passenger to stop while also telling him that he should have at least asked for his permission first before clicking pictures. In no time, the two got into a heated argument which even led to exchanging blows. The flight staff had to intervene and pacify both parties. It was later found that the co-passenger was reportedly a junior artiste.

Baba Sehgal is the new baddie in T-town

Baba Sehgal is the new baddie in T-town
Times of India
Baba Sehgal seems to fancy playing the baddie onscreen. "I think it's my bald hip-hopper look that's doing the trick for me," quips the rapper, who is playing a "Bangkok based drug lord," in an upcoming film, Overdose. "I play this international drug peddler who moves to the city to expand his business. It's an interesting character," shares the singer-turned-actor who believes "acting is just an extension of shooting music videos."

He's completed shooting for a negative role in Anushka's Rudrammadevi — he is playing the role of Naga Devudu — and is admittedly in talks for another upcoming Tollywood project. "Touchwood, I'm getting a lot of offers, so I'm looking to make the most of what's coming my way. Hyderabad has been quite lucky for me," he adds.

Khan’s musicalSunny Leone to feature in Bobby

Mumbai: Karenjit Kaur Vohra aka Sunny Leone climbs the ladder of success after post becoming 3 films old in Bollywood.

The pre-production works on her two projects - the Bollywood sex comedy ‘Mastizaade’ and south Indian film ‘Current Teega’ are on.

Now, the 33-year-old actress is set to feature in a musical directed by Bobby Khan, choreographer Ahmed Khan's younger brother.

The untitled film is said to have 11 songs, all of which will be choreographed by Ahmed. Ahmed is also the producer of the film.

Though Ahmed does not speak in detail regarding Sunny's role in the film he himself confirmed the news and said that the film, would be released by this year.

The hunt for the male lead is on. Movie will be shot at different locations including Delhi, Agra and Jaisalmer.

Asin and Smriti Irani bond on film set

Mumbai, May 28 : Asin is known to maintain good friendships with many of her colleagues in the industry. The most recent one to discover a sweet friendship with the actress was BJP leader, union minister and television actress Smriti Irani.
They seem to get along like a house on fire on the sets of Umesh Shukla's All is Well.

Smriti, who was the latest addition to the film's starcast, was made to feel at home thanks to Asin's warmheartedness and the two have grown close through the course of the shoot.

Smriti Irani plays Asin's mother in the film and seems to have developed a genuine fondness for her onscreen daughter. Both the ladies are known to be intelligent, well spoken and having a clear view and opinion on current affairs.

They in fact have been seen bonding over lunch and long conversations between breaks during shooting. While they were shooting in Mumbai Smriti used to get Parsi food from her home cooked specially for Asin for lunch.

Now recently when they were shooting in Shimla, Smriti Irani who was a candidate contesting against none other than Rahul Gandhi in Amethi had to drive down to Delhi on the Election results day. When she returned to resume shoot for the film the next day, she brought back a whole big box of boondi ladoos specially from Delhi as she knew that they were Asin's favourite. Sweet bonding must say!

'Citylights' will bring back legacy of my cinema: Mahesh Bhatt

New Delhi, May 28: Filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt, co-owner of Vishesh Films, says the film production company has given many hits like "Raaz", "Jism" and "Murder", but their forthcoming film "Citylights" will change its course.
He said that he received a message from someone who appreciated the Hansal Mehta directorial and said that Vishesh Films will never be the same again. "She even said that after 'Saaransh’, this is the only movie that matches up. This is the kind of response I am getting. When people speak with this kind of passion about a film they have no expectation from, it means it just changed the course like after ‘Zakhm’, I took a sharp turn and made ‘Murder’, ‘Raaz’, ‘Jism’... people asked what happened to him… “‘Citylights’ has changed the narrative of Vishesh Films and I think it will bring back the legacy of my cinema...It’s the most natural thing for me to make the film. I’ve made ‘Saaransh’, ‘Daddy’, ‘Zakhm’...I was known for those kinds of films. It (‘Citylights’) is going to change things for us. That’s why I am pining for the film’s success. The success of this film is very important,” he told reporters here.
Starring Rajkummar Rao and Patralekha, the movie is an adaptation of British film "Metro Manila". It will hit approximately 400 screens Friday, but Mahesh believes the movie is already a hit. Made at a budget of less than Rs.6 crore (including production and marketing), it has already earned an impressive amount from satellite rights and music. “If it works, I will ask for more money to make such movies. If it doesn’t, which is quite impossible because it has to earn very less money... we can say that the film is a hit. "Now, how big it will be only time will tell. Market will come if it’s very big hit. The revenue from satellite and music has been covered to some extent and now it is the profit that we need to know about,” he said.
Mahesh, who co-owns the production company with his brother Mukesh, said that he had to fight at his home to make “Citylights”. “I fought at home to make this film. It wasn’t easy to make the film. There were ideological differences. My brother doesn’t support this kind of cinema. He said we have earned so much and have been successful for years so, why this now. I said if you want to be alive you need to be on the edge and play,” said Mahesh. He believes that there is a need to keep fear alive - whether the movie will work or not - so that it reminds you that you are a human being and not god.

Newcomer Patralekha eyeing Hollywood

New Delhi, May 28: Patralekha is soon to make her Bollywood debut with Hansal Mehta's “Citylights”, but she is already aiming for Hollywood.
The Shillong girl has no films to boast about in her kitty, but has her dreams intact. “Right now there are no offers. I am open to all kinds of films even if they are regional like Tamil, Telugu, Assamese, Bengali...and even Hollywood. Everybody wants to go to Hollywood. I want to work there as well," she said.
"I want to work with actresses like Meryl Streep, Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet as we have grown up watching them,” the actress, who shares the screen with her beau and actor Rajkummar Rao in "Citylights", told reporters here.
She has no specific list of Hollywood actors she would like to share screen space with, but aspires to work with young actors in Bollywood. “Ranbir Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Sidharth Malhotra. Rajkummar is my favourite because of obvious reasons, then Ranbir,” said the actress.
She is open to any acting offer, but television can wait. She said: “TV not now.” Presented by Fox Star Studios in association with Vishesh Films, "Citylights" will release Friday.

Sushmita Sen hints of getting married soon, says it'll be a beautiful wedding

Sushmita Sen hints of getting married soon, says it'll be a beautiful wedding
Mumbai: Former beauty queen and actress Sushmita Sen, who has adopted two daughters, says she will certainly get married and that too in a beautiful ceremony.

The 38-year-old, who has been linked to the likes of Randeep Hooda and Vikram Bhatt among others, doesn't conform to the social norms.

When asked about this, she said: "I think you save the best for last."

"I don't think I should walk with the system. Our society has made this system that get graduate at 18, by 22 start panicking to get married and by 27 have your first child. I don't believe in that..."

"Every person's DNA is different. I will certainly get married and for sure it's going to be a beautiful wedding (Masha allah bahut khoobsurat hogi meri shaadi)."

"Applied concealer on hickey"

Bollywood's latest hottie Varun Dhawan has no qualms about talking skincare and maintaining good looks. TWF correspondent Sreya Basu in conversation with the Gen Y actor in Mumbai.
There is a notion that men don't need to take care of their skin. Do you agree?

Absolutely not. Any man who disagrees to skincare, I think, is a little lame because in today's time and age when there is so much pollution and we live a hectic life running across places, you do need skincare items like face wash and moisturizer. I am man enough to admit it.

Do you think men are changing their rough-and-tough attitude and becoming softer towards skin and beauty care?

I don't think much has changed. But pollution levels have gone up, stuff around us have changed, there are more cars on the road today. So in some way or the other, your skin is getting damaged every day. I don't know about the hard and soft thing. But what matters at the end of the day that you look your best.

How do you keep your skin healthy?

The simplest way to keep your skin healthy is by drinking a lot of water. I also drink a lot of green coconut water. Also, I use a good face wash. It is very important to use a moisturizer after using face wash. My skin is oily. So I use one that suits my skin type.

What do you think is the best therapy for skin?

Nothing can beat a good 10-12 hours sleep. It rejuvenates your skin like anything. You will look bright when you are awake. But sadly, we can hardly afford that. I barely get 4-6 hours sleep.

Have you tried herbal products?

Long time back someone told me to try multani mitti. I did try that and it actually works.

Have you ever used a female beauty product?

Once I had a hickey on my neck and I had gone to a family function where I used a cousin sister's concealer to hide it. Otherwise, I would have got a good beating from my elders.

What is your fitness mantra?

I work out every day, no matter how tired I am. I try to keep my mind healthy, that's the most important part. You can't do anything with a messed up and heated mind. Also I love to swim as it is the best form of exercise where your muscles get toned.

What is the diet plan that you maintain?

In the morning, I have three egg whites and some juice. I have one bajre ki roti, dal and chicken for lunch. Here I would like to tell you that I have a lot of chicken. In the evening, I generally have a sandwich without cheese and a black coffee. I also take zero carb protein shakes.

Give some fitness tips to your fans out there?

You should go and play any sport - it can be badminton, cricket, football, swimming, hockey or anything. Food-wise, eat what your mother tells you, but not always, because some mothers will prescribe things like buttermilk and paratha with ghee. Also, don't eat too much carbs at night. At least, that's what I maintain

Rahul Bhat to play lead in Sudhir Mishra's next

Mumbai, May 22 : Indian film director and screenwriter Sudhir Mishra has roped in actor Rahul Bhat as the lead in his forthcoming political drama. The film, still untitled, is set in Uttar Pradesh, and while the star cast has been finalized, the film's lead heroine is currently kept under wraps. Rahul Bhat is known for his performance on the TV series Heena.
However, according to the reports, it was his performance in Anurag Kashyap's much awaited film 'Ugly' that left Sudhir Mishra impressed and earned him the lead in Mishra's next.

Speaking of Rahul Bhat and his next film, Mishra said, "Rahul is an immensely talented actor. He is instinctive and has the intensity required for the portrayal of the protagonist. When I saw his performance in Ugly, I knew I had found the perfect lead for my next film."

A lot of research has gone into the script of the film and Rahul has already working on special preparation for the role.

A very intense actor, Rahul had to transform his physique to do justice to his role in 'Ugly' and is known for being extremely detail oriented and passionate and dedicated about his work.

'Ugly' has been doing the rounds of international film festivals over the last year and Rahul, who plays the lead role in the film has been getting rave reviews for his commendable performance.

Rahul plays a dark, complex character and has received a standing ovation at the Cannes Film festival in 2013.

Ever since it's screening at Cannes, the movie has gained a lot of media attention and appreciation.

'Ugly' will be released in India in the 3rd or 4th quarter of 2014.

'Ugly' is also being screened at the New York Indian Film Festival in May 2014 and Rahul has been nominated in the 'Best Actor' category and is currently in New York for the promotions.

From being a top model and TV actor, Rahul Bhat has come a long way and is now reviving his career with some inspiring cinema
