Raveena Tandon wants new government to focus on northeast India
Guwahati, June 1 : Actress Raveena Tandon, who is here for a store launch, says she loves the region and hopes the new government works for its development.
"Just landed in Guwahati! Store opening. Just love northeast of our country. Lovely people. Has so much potential. Hope new government focuses on development," she posted on Twitter Sunday.
"Guwahati art deco on the walls! Welcoming you, at the airport," she further posted along with a photograph.
According to reports, she is in the Assamese city for the showroom launch of PC Jewellers.
On the work front, she recently shot for the reality show "Entertainment Ke Liye Kuch Bhi Karega" as a guest judge.
Two hearts racing: Shah Rukh Khan tweets before IPL finale
Bangalore, June 1 : Shah Rukh Khan's Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) won the title in 2012 and they have again reached the finals of the seventh edition being played here Sunday. The superstar admits to being nervous, but says he has nothing to lose and tweeted a picture with AbRam written on it.
"As long as I will do justice to that moment in which I exist, I have nothing to fear. The rest does not matter," tweeted SRK before the match.
But he is nervous about the result.
"I am getting a feeling that my constant tweeting is a sign of nervous excitement. Fingers are not stopping," added SRK whose daughter Suhana is with him at the M. Chinnaswamy stadium.
The "Main Hoon Na" star has three children -- son Aryan, daughter Suhana with wife Gauri, and baby boy AbRam, who was born through surrogacy in 2013.
While his daughter and her friends are all up to watch the match live here, his other family members are back home in Mumbai.
"We are kind of ready in all shapes and sizes. Bring it on. Go my KKR," Shah Rukh shared along with a photograph with AbRam's name written on it, but it is not clear whether its a jersey or a T-shirt.
"Suddenly, wish for all around me. Wife is babysitting lil one, miss her. Aryan in school. But my army of lil girls with me. Ready steady po," he further tweeted.
"Two hearts racing. My KKR & mine. They say when two hearts race... both win. So let's wish for more and dream a little higher. Love you, my boys," he wrote.
UPA spent Rs 187 cr on Bharat Nirman publicity in 2013-14
The UPA-II government had spent nearly Rs 187 crore to publicise schemes under the 'Bharat Nirman' programme in the election year 2013-14.According to an RTI response by the Directorate of Advertising & Visual Publicity, the Manmohan Singh-led government spent Rs 186.98 crore in the election year 2013-14.Giving details of Bharat Nirman campaign of UPA-II, DAVP said that in 2013-14, the election year, Rs 186.98 crore were spent, whereas in 2012-13, the figure was 100.95 crore. In 2011-12 it was Rs 86 crore and in 2010-11 it was Rs 47 crore.However, the details of NDA government's spending on 'India Shining' campaign were not available, according to DAVP, the nodal agency of government spending on advertisements.Manmohan Singh-led government spent Rs 186.98 crore in the election year 2013-14The DAVP said that it does not have records pertaining to expenses incurred on the India Shining campaign run in the election year in 2003-04 during the NDA government led by Atal Bihari Vajpayee."Our campaign wing has intimated that records pertaining to the campaigns - India Shining and Mera Bharat Mahan - are no longer available with it. Computerization of records was done from 2007 onwards," the central public information officer of DAVP said.The reply provided to RTI activist Subhash Agrawal said that in view of the reasons cited, the accounts wing is not in a position to make available details in respect of expenditure incurred on the 'India Shining' campaign since it is not known to it if the campaign was an exclusive one and fund was exclusively earmarked for this campaign."If the campaign was running in a mixed manner with other campaigns, then unless release order details are made available to accounts wing, it may not be in a position to provide information. The work, however, could be voluminous one because at that time records in accounts wing also were being maintained manually," the response said.
