Karan Johar to host; Lata Mangeshkar to sing few lines at Dilip Kumar's autobiography launch
Bollywood thespian Dilip Kumar's autobiography 'Substance And The Shadow' launch, which will be held on June 9 at Mumbai's Grand Hyatt hotel, will be a historic moment! What with who's who of the film industry coming together and being actively involved into it!
Filmmaker Karan Johar will be the host of the mega book launch event!
Lata Mangeshkar will light the inaugural lamp and begin the event by singing a few lines for Dilip Sahab followed by topnotch actors Amitabh Bachchan and Aamir Khan unveiling the autobiography, documented by Dilip Kumar's close friend Udaya Tara Nayar (writer/author).
While Big B will read a verse or a paragraph from the book, Aamir will recite a poem, written by Prasoon Joshi.
Other close pals and industry veterans like Dharmendra will read a few lines on the thespian; Vyjayanthimala will speak few words in honour of the legendary actor.
Interestingly, Javed Ali and Shaan will perform a medley of Dilip Kumar's evergreen hits, which has been composed by Lalit Pandit.
If this was not enough then, an audio visual-3D mapping video on the entire journey of Dilip Sahab will also be played at the event.
Shahrukh and Salman Khan might attend the launch event!
Hema Malini, Madhuri Dixit, Tina and Anil Ambani, Kamal Haasan, Priyanka Chopra, Parineeti Chopra, Vidya Balan are also expected to grace the event!
Indeed, a grand event to look forward to!
I thought I was to play Kitty to Karamchand: Vidya Balan
Mumbai, June 2: When Vidya Balan was asked to consider a role in "Bobby Jasoos", she thought she will play assistant to a detective a la Kitty to the popular sleuth Karamchand.
Little did Vidya know that the makers were asking her to essay a female detective in the movie! In "Bobby Jasoos", produced by Born Free Entertainment, Vidya plays the title role.
Recalling her meeting with producers Dia Mirza and Sahil Sangha, as well as the film's director Samar Shaikh and writer Sanyuktha Chawla Shaikh, she asked them: "Okay, what is the film that you want to make about?"
Narrating the conversation, she said: "They told me 'Its called 'Bobby Jasoos' and I immediately thought that they want me to play Kitty to Karamchand
great!' Then Dia told me we want you to play Bobby Jasoos and I was immediately interested because I had never imagined a female detective.
"I took the script with me, read it, had a few meetings with Samar and Sanyunktha to understand their vision and, as it was a great concept, I immediately agreed to do it."
Releasing July 4, "Bobby Jasoos", presented by Reliance Entertainment, also stars Ali Fazal, Kiran Kumar, Arjan Bajwa, Anupriya Goenka, Zarina Wahab and Tanvi Azmi.
When 'Fugly' stars grooved with Shiamak Davar
Mumbai, June 2 : The star cast of upcoming comedy drama 'Fugly'- Mohit Marwah, Olympic medalist Boxer Vijender Singh, Kiara Advani and Arfi Lamba was spotted grooving with Bollywood Choreographer Shiamak Davar and promoted their film at his summer funk show held in Mumbai. Speaking on the occasion actor Mohit Marwa who plays one of the lead roles in the film spoke about the film and urged Shiamak Davar's dancing students to watch the film. Directed by Kabir Sadanand, 'Fugly' is a comedy thriller with a social message and also stars Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar in cameo roles. The film is slated for a 13th June release.
Will Kapil Sharma make a fiction show?
Mumbai, June 2 : From comedy to singing, acting, producing and composing -- popular stand-up comedian Kapil Sharma has done it all. But if you ask him about trying his hands at fiction, he shows no interest.
However, he does not rule out making a fiction-based show or being part of this some day in the future.
"I have no interest in fiction because from the beginning I have been doing live shows, performing in front of the audience," Kapil said here at the on-location shoot of the daily soap "Sasural Simar Ka".
Here, he shot a special sequence for the show, where he will be seen judging the grand finale of the competition "Bahu No.1".
"I am not comfortable with fiction, but you never know about future," he added.
Meanwhile, Kapil is set to make his big screen debut with Yash Raj Films' "Bank-Chor", set to go on floors soon.
Kunal Kemmu: 'Guddu Ki Gun' my funniest film
Kolkata: Bollywood actor Kunal Kemmu, who is currently filming 'Guddu Ki Gun' in the eastern metropolis, Monday said the venture is his 'funniest film' till date.
"Guddu Ki Gun" will see the actor romance Bengali actress Payel Sarkar, who is making her Bollywood debut with it.
"I think this is the funniest film that I have done. The character is a washing powder salesman in Kolkata who hails from Bihar. He is like a Bihari casanova," 31-year-old Kunal said here.
Payel, a known face in Bengal's regional film industry, hopes her foray into Bollywood would pan out well.
