Mohenjo Daro: Hrithik Roshan’s New Found Love Pooja Hegde
Hrithik Roshan and Pooja Hegde starrer Mohenjo Daro begins shoot early October.
Ever since Ashutosh Gowariker announced that Hrithik Roshan would be a part of his next directorial venture Mohenjo Daro, the obvious question on everyone’s mind was who would be his actress.
Pooja Hegde, has been chosen to play the lead in this love story set against the backdrop of the Indus Valley Civilisation.
Confirming this news, Ashutosh said, “I am extremely happy to have found Pooja. Apart from the fact that she looked lovely with Hrithik, she is a natural actress who is fresh as well as endearing with a lot of poise. I am looking forward to starting shoot early October.”
“Some films you make with a lot of passion and integrity, but they fail. What can you do about it? I’m very proud of Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey and given a chance, I wouldn’t have made it differently. As far as taking risks is concerned, Mohenjo Daro will probably be my most risky film till date. If you let the Box Office numbers cloud your cinematic vision, then you will never be able to make the film you truly want to make,” said the filmmaker who is very excited to team up with Hrithik Roshan post Jodha Akbar.
But setting the stage for the historical romance has not been easy for Ashutosh Gowariker. He gave the first narration to Hrithik Roshan back in 2011, and the actor was instantly convinced about the project and fell in love with the script.
However, Hrithik Roshan had various previous commitments, which he needed to complete before he could dedicate himself to a mammoth project like Mohenjo Daro.
“Just by Hrithik Roshan’s presence in Mohenjo Daro, I am sure he will make the entire city and civilization believable. Likewise, I may have succeeded in creating the Mughal era without Hrithik in Jodhaa Akbar. But the era would not have come alive without him. I am glad we’re back together. The film will go on the floors in three months.” stated an upbeat Gowariker.

How Is Salman Khan’s Kick Similar To The Dhoom Series?
- View PhotoHow Is Salman Khan’s Kick Similar To The Dhoom Series?
Kick is perhaps the most awaited film of this year. After Jai Ho’s dull show, all eyes are on Salman Khan’s next release which has got his favourite Eid date. From the look of it, the film seems interesting with amazing stunts on display. But we did notice a strange resemblance of the film with the Dhoom series. Why we say so? Let us clear the confusion here.
Kick is about a ‘shatir chor’ or a clever thief who robs bank installations and he does so under disguises. Isn’t that similar to Dhoom 2? Hrithik Roshan, the suave and the best looking thief in Indian cinema, also specialized in looting under guises. Perhaps it can also be safely deduced that Salman or Devil in Kick uses his mask as an identification mark. Hrithik used to do the same.
Also, the robbing banks can be credited to Dhoom 3 where Aamir Khan is shown unleashing his revenge on a bank after it refuses to go lenient on his father who was failing on payments. There too Aamir is seen climbing down a building while running. In one of the scenes from Kick’s trailer, Salman can be seen jumping out of a window which looks like a corporate installation.
If you remember the train sequence in the trailer, you will notice that although the vehicles are different, it is very similar to Aamir’s stunt in Dhoom 3. Salman jumps off his cycle while crossing a railway junction with a train racing towards him and casually walks it off just in time. You remember Aamir’s stunt in Dhoom 3? He just slides under a truck just in time to save his head from getting squashed by a vehicle.
Too many similarities? That’s exactly what we are saying.
Kick stars Salman Khan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Randeep Hooda, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, MithunChakraborty, Archana Puran Singh and Sumona Chakravarti in supporting roles. Himesh Reshammiya has composed the music for Kick; the film is being distributed by UTV Motion Picturesand is set to hit the screens on 25 July 2014.
