Anil Kapoor to soon return with second season of 24
Mumbai: Anil Kapoor has several film offers coming his way but is tempted to set the ball rolling for the second season of his game-changing TV series "24".
Confirming his full-throttle plans for the show's season two, Anil said: "My entire team is into pre-production. Only my own dates need to be worked out. I am in a bit of a fix."
Last year, Anil is said to have refused all movie offers to focus on "24". This year, the movie offers have piled up, but Anil is in the mood for the TV show.
"There are quite a number of tempting film offers. But I haven't said yes to them as yet. I need to work out my dates for season two of '24'. That's a commitment I've made to myself. As a movie actor, I've seen and done it all. Television is a new medium for me, and it's very exciting," he said.
So would he end up doing no films this year?
"I am already doing Anees Bazmee's 'Welcome Back'. So I've a major film coming up this year. As for more movies, they would depend on how much time season two of '24' would need. You see, the first season was tougher, what with the entire machinery and logistics of television being new to me.
"A lot of the production hassles would be automatically lessened this time," he said.
An espionage thriller, "24" was the Indian adaptation of the eponymous American TV series, which starred Keifer Sutherland as Counter Terrorist Unit agent Jack Bauer.
The one thing that one is most certainly going to see in season two of '24' is the core cast of Anil, Tisca Chopra and Mandira Bedi.
Rishi Kapoor and Jeetendra are likely to join the cast.
"Let's see how it goes. I am even more excited about season two," said the actor-producer.
Katrina has better IQ than Deepika Padukone : Ayan Mukerji
Mumbai, Director Ayan Mukherji says that Deepika Padukone and Katrina Kaif would be the last two film actresses between whom he would like to be stuck on a deserted island.
Ayan said this in response to a query from filmmaker Karan Johar in the rapid fire round on his popular chat show 'Koffee with Karan'.
This episode of the talk show will be aired on coming Sunday on Star World, where Ayan would be joined by cousin and actress Kajol Devgn.
Deepika was previously in a relationship with Ayan's good actor-friend Ranbir Kapoor while Katrina is rumoured to be his current girlfriend. During the chat when Karan further quizzed Ayan on these two leading ladies, the young director mostly picked up Katrina in his responses.
To 'An actress you think is sexy', Ayan said Katrina. On who would score highest if Katrina, Kareena and Deepika took an IQ test, Ayan thought Katrina would lead. On another question -- Deepika, Katrina or Kareena--the most stunning girl, the answer was Katrina.
Further when Karan asked him - 'If you were to make biopics on these two people what would you name them' ? Ayan replied, On Deepika Padukone - 'The girl with the broken heart' and on Katrina, 'The Girl who Tried'.

Mumbai: Bollywood actress Alia Bhatt turns 23 today. Two-film-old star Alia Bhatt was born to filmmaker Mahesh Bhatt and actress Soni Razdan on March 15, 1991.
Alia, who made her debut as a young, rich glamorous student in Karan Johar’s ‘Student of the Year’, was appreciated for her performance in her second film ‘Highway’.

Politician MK Alagiri, who has been expelled from his own party DMK, met the superstar at his residence in Pose Garden, Chennai. The news has been revealed by MK Alagiri's son and producer Dhayanidhi. He also posted a picture taken with Rajinikanth. He wrote, "With dad and Superstar Rajinikanth!"
"Dad wished the one and only SUPERSTAR at his residence on the super hit audio launch of #Kochadaiiyaan ! went along and got his blessings..." After the meeting, Dhayanidhi tweeted, "one of the great human beings I've ever met in my life... Long live our SUPERSTAR !"
It was followed by a tweet to director of Kochadaiiyaan and daughter of Rajinikanth, Soundarya. Dhayanidhi wrote, "all the very best ! I'm sure it's gonna be massive massive hit..."

It is obvious that political angle can't be ignored, claims a close observer. However, as the Lok Sabha elections are nearing, their meeting has now gained prominence.

Soha paints school wall to promote education
Kolkata, March 15: Bollywood actress Soha Ali Khan, who believes in the right of education for each individual, joined a social campaign for the cause by painting a part of a school's wall here.
Supporting P&G's flagship corporate social responsibility program P&G Shiksha at an event here recently, Soha said: "I truly believe that education is a basic right of every child and it is heartening to see a movement like P&G Shiksha facilitating education for underprivileged children."
The actress, who is the daughter of veteran talent Sharmila Tagore, sincerely believes "infrastructure is a key issue at schools across the country".
"P&G Shiksha makes the necessary infrastructure interventions by painting the school walls today, I have been able to play a small role in giving these children a bright and colourful future and ensuring they have access to a fully functional school," she added.
Soha also turned teacher for the day and involved the children in some interactive learning by implementing fun tactics, and she even engaged them in a rapid fire round on a wide range of subjects.
The Oxford University alumnus has urged people to join the movement by making the simple brand choice of buying P&G products, as a part of the proceeds go towards building and supporting schools.
The P&G Shiksha program has impacted the lives of over 420,000 children and it continues to march forward with the motto 'Padegha India, Badhega India'.
