Rohit Shetty begins 'Singham 2' by blowing up 3 cars
Mumbai:Trust Rohit Shetty to stick to his trademark style of hard core action in 'Singham 2' starring Ajay Devgn and Kareena Kapoor. The actor has kicked off the first schedule of the film and has filmed a very intelligent action sequence with Ajay.
Rohit Shetty shot an action sequence with Ajay Devgn in Kharghar few days ago. The scene in question is the car blast sequence where the cars fly at least 50 feet above ground level. It's a scene where the focus is on Ajay Devgn running and the blasts is taking place in the background.
Rohit Shetty is very particular about the safety of his stunt man and he took all the necessary precautions before shooting the sequence. It was shot in Kharghar for a couple of days in an isolated road.
Rohit Shetty has now earned the image of blowing up cars in his movies, be it in the 'Golmaal' series or in 'Chennai Express'. But he hates it when anyone asks him that how many cars he will be blowing up in his next movie. He feels that its not a joke blowing up a car as there are real people inside the car when the blasts happen. if you bump into Rohit, don't make the mistake of asking that question.

My dream to be an MP was shattered: Nihal Ahmed
|
From 1960 to 1995, I have contested the State assembly elections 10 times. I have experienced many ups and downs at the hustings. Since the beginning, I have been linked to the Socialist ideology and so I have been always attracted to the secular politics. I have been associated with veteran socialist leaders like SM Joshi, NG Gore, former prime ministers VP Singh, Deve Gowda, veterans like Madhu Dandavate, Bapusaheb Kaldate and George Fernandes. I could learn a lot from them.
I have deep respect towards these gentlemen in politics. I also have cordial relations with people from other political parties. I have been carrying out a struggle throughout my life for organising the labour class in creating social awareness. I have never given thought to my own interests.
I began my political career with municipal elections and later, I contested the State assembly polls. As a loyal worker of the Janata Dal, I travelled all over the State and this has benefited my party. I experienced defeat for the first time in the 1999 State assembly polls.
This was the first major jolt in my career. Prior to 2009, Malegaon used to be a reserved Lok Sabha constituency and therefore, I could not try my luck in the Lok Sabha polls.
Haribhau Mahale was twice elected as a Janata Dal nominee from Malegaon. After the delimitation, Malegaon Lok Sabha constituency was restructured and Dhule Lok Sabha seat, comprising three assembly segments each of Dhule and Nashik districts, came into existence.
I contested Parliamentary election from this seat in 2009, hoping to win victory on the basis of en bloc votes of the Muslim community, my state-level image as a Socialist leader and rapport with the masses. I also made an emotional appeal to the electorate to elect me in the last poll.
However, I did not get elected. I polled only 72,738 votes. I had been elected as a legislator but I must admit frankly that my dream to become an MP was shattered. Looking back at my political career, I feel that I have experienced victory and defeat in various polls and I have faced them with ease. But, nowadays, winning an election is not an easy task.
