'3 A.M.' will give new twist to horror genre: Ranvijay Singh

New Delhi: VJ-actor Ranvijay Singh says his latest film '3 A.M.' is different from other horror films in Bollywood as they have not relied on cheap gimmicks to scare the audie
Rannvijay Singh
The 31-year-old actor is playing the lead in the Vishal Mahadkar-directed film, which released on Friday.

"The film is a simple love story that deals with paranormal angle. It has been shot in a real haunted location (a mill) in Byculla (South Mumbai).

"The script has been written in such a way that you will naturally have a sense of fear as the story proceeds. We haven't used any cheap gimmick like witch and scantly-clad women dancing to create nervousness," Ranvijay said.

The film is about a guy, who loses his love interest played by Anindita Nayar, and sets out to explore the supernatural world to reconnect with her.

Ranvijay says it was good to share screen space with Anindita.

"She was very nice. She had no tantrums. We had a lot of fun while shooting because the crew were bunch of boys. Anindita also used to behave like a boy with us. We shot the film in just 28 days and when you have such a fun-loving crew things become easy," he said.

After making a successful stint as a video-jockey (VJ), Ranvijay forayed into films. He made his Bollywood debut with 'Toss: A Flip of Destiny' followed by 'London Dreams' and 'Action Replayy'.

He has been away from Bollywood for a long time as he also tried his luck in Punjabi films.

"I have been doing Punjabi films from last three years. I just wanted to do interesting movies. I don't want to do any random film to be in the audience's mind because I have a career in TV," he said.

The actor recently tied the knot with girlfriend Priyanka and he feels that his life has changed in a better way after marriage.

"It's amazing to be married. I feel if you have the right person in your life then you should get married to him/her. You don't have to try hard to sustain your marriage when you think the person is right for you," he added.

Varun, Deepika team up for 'The Fault In Our Stars' Hindi remake
"The makers believe that Deepika and Varun will do justice to the roles. 'The Fault In Our Stars' will be the third film that will bring (director) Homi Adajania and Deepika together after the successful 'Cocktail' and 'Finding Fanny'," a source told.

For the film, Fox Star Studios is partnering with Dinesh Vijan.

"The Fault In Our Stars" is about two youngsters, who are terminally ill and fall deeply in love, taking them on an extraordinary journey. The casual approach and humour in the story is said to make it unconventional in treatment.

The shoot of the Hindi adaptation of "The Fault In Our Stars" will begin in March 2015.
