Manish Hari Prasad quits UTV to join SRK’s Red Chillies Entertainment

Mumbai: Manish Hari Prasad, creative director of UTV has put in his papers recently. One of the senior employees of the studio, Manish has been instrumental in getting the studio its most successful film, ‘Chennai Express’, on board. Over the period of several years, a studio that was known to only produce niche films like Dev D, he has played a major role in expanding UTV’s commercial arm. Last year’s critically acclaimed film, ‘ Kai Po Che’ was also brought on board because of Manish.
Buzz is that Manish will now be joining Shah Rukh’s Red Chillies Entertainment at a very senior position. He is expected to join as the creative head and take charge in a month’s time.
According to an industry source, Manish will be expected to bring in content driven scripts for the studio that is on the verge of massive expansion.
Last week, Gaurav Verma, who was the Executive Director Theatrical Distribution at Disney UTV also quit to join Red Chillies as the Chief Revenue Officer. Making the announcement, Venky Mysore, CEO of Red Chillies Entertainment had said, “As we work towards becoming a full-fledged studio, senior executive, with proven track records, such as Gaurav will play key roles.”
As reported earlier by Deccan Chronicle, another senior employee, Shikha Kapur, Sr VP, Marketing at UTV has also quit to join Fox Star Studios as Marketing Head.

Aamir Khan clueless of his son Junaid's plans

Mumbai, April 5 : Superstar Aamir Khan has no clue what his 21-year-old son Junaid plans to do in life. He says he doesn't "tell me anything".
"We don't have any command on our kids. What will he do, when will he do, I have no idea. He doesn't tell me anything," Aamir told reporters here at the trailer launch of Jackie Shroff's son Tiger's debut film "Heropanti" Friday.

"You (media) please ask him and tell me about his plans," he added.

Aamir has three children in all. Son Junaid and daughter Ira are from his first wife Reena, and the actor-producer also has a son named Azad Rao Khan with his current wife Kiran Rao. The baby was born via a surrogate.

English woman cricketer Danielle Wyatt proposes to 'Kohli' on Twitter!

   
 
Mumbai: Looks like Danielle Wyatt, a member of England's women's cricket team, is completely smitten by cricketer Virat Kohli after his big win in the ICC World T20 2014 final on Friday.
Wyatt took to social networking site Twitter to express her feelings for the star cricketer.
 
Her tweet “Kholi marry me”, garnered a lot of interesting replies, not one of them related to her obvious misspell of Kohli's name.
When told that Kohli is already "booked to bollywood actress Anushka Sharma”, she replied, "nah he ain't."

Anupam Kher to conduct acting workshop at IIFA 2014

Mumbai, April 5 : Bollywood veteran Anupam Kher has been appointed to conduct an acting workshop as part of the International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Weekend and Awards in the US later this month. His directorial venture, a short film, will also be screened.
IIFA is scheduled to make its US debut this year. It will be held in Tampa Bay, Florida April 23-26.

The world premiere of Anupam's directorial "I Went Shopping For Robert De Niro" will be held on the second day of IIFA after he hosts an acting workshop for the students of the University of South Florida (USF).

The premiere will be open to celebrities from the Indian film fraternity, who will be seen attending the screening and lending support to the actor.

Through the 29-minute film, Anupam has paid tribute to iconic Hollywood actor Robert De Niro, his co-star from the Oscar nominated film "Silver Linings Playbook".

"Having the world premiere at IIFA in Tampa Bay, Florida, showcases in essence the spirit of the short film, where a group of Indian artists pay tribute to the American legend," Anupam said in a statement.

De Niro had even visited the actor's Mumbai school Actor Prepares and interacted with actors, directors, students and teachers about his work, characters, scripts, co-actors, his films, his associations with filmmakers, et al.

Anupam, who has been entertaining Hindi movie buffs for 30 years, has been a part of films like "Lamhe", "Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge", "Khosla Ka Ghosla" and "A Wednesday", and he has also regaled audiences with crossover movies like "Bend It Like Beckham" and "Bride and Prejudice".

His international projects include Woody Allen's "You Will Meet A Tall Dark Stranger" and "Silver Linings Playbook".

Anupam is excited about sharing his knowledge of acting during IIFA. The workshop will be open to students of USF.

Aamir keeps his promise, continuous wearing a tri-colour band

 
Mumbai: On his TV show, 'Sayamev Jayate', Aamir Khan was seen wearing a tri-colour band on his hand. On national TV, he took a promise that he will continue wearing this band till he casts his vote for elections 2014. Also, he had urged citizens to neither sell nor give votes to corrupt politicians.
On Friday, April 4, he stepped out at the trailer launch of 'Heropanti'. At the venue he was seen still wearing the band. Though he is heading abroad very soon, he said at the event that he is going to vote and then leave the country.
Aamir Khan's attempt is to reach out to maximum people so that the country can witness more number of people at the voting booth.
Meanwhile, the Election Commission has joined hands with actor Aamir Khan as its national icon, and recorded video and audio campaigns showing him urging people to vote ethically.
