'Khatron Ke...' has given me a lot of exposure: Geeta Tandon
Mumbai, April 28 : Stuntwoman Geeta Tandon, who got eliminated along with actress Gauhar Khan from "Khatron Ke Khiladi - Darr Ka Blockbuster", says her stint on the stunt-based reality show was an "exciting" experience.
"'Khatron Ke Khiladi' has been a very exciting phase in my life. Before the show, I had done stunts for the artists. But 'Khatron Ke Khiladi' gave me the platform to work alongside the artists and not for them and that turned out to be great fun," Tandon said in a statement.
"The show has given me a lot of exposure and thankfully, I have scored a great opportunity to further my future as a result of the show," she added.
Also, the show helped her fulfil her dream of taking her art and stunts internationally.
Seen as one of the strong contenders for the title, Geeta performed week after week, but she couldn't survive the 12th stunt, which led to her ouster from the show.
Geeta shared a great rapport with the show host and her mentor Rohit Shetty and she believes she would not have survived this long without the guidance and motivation from her "guru".

Cricket Buzz: Imran Tahir may join Daredevils
With their spin cupboard in the ongoing Indian Premier League almost bare, Delhi Daredevils are likely to rope in South African leg-spinner Imran Tahir to bolster their slow bowling department.
Currently the Daredevils have only two specialist spin bowlers in left-arm spinner Shahbaz Nadeem and leg-spinner Rahul Sharma.
Tahir was not picked at the auction but had a fantastic ICC World T20 in Bangladesh where he was one of the top wicket-takers, with 12 scalps in the tournament, at a very economical average.
Tahir's experience of having plied his trade in T20 cricket in England and South Africa will also come handy. He has played 12 T20 Internationals, taking 21 wickets. He also played 91 T20 matches, taking 99 wickets with a decent economy rate of 6.42.
The Daredevils are handicapped following pacer Nathan Coulter-Nile injury.
The Australian bowler got injured while fielding in Daredevils' match against Chennai Super Kings three balls into the match. He was subsequently ruled out for the entire edition of the tournament.
"Tahir is the likely choice as DD is desperately short on their spin department. There were talks of him joining the team in UAE but it has been delayed. Hopefully, it will be cleared in a day or two," a BCCI official involved with IPL activities said on Monday.
While Daredevils skipper Pietersen had always put up brave front about his spin bowling department, the team is certainly a bit short on experience.
Left-arm spinner Nadeem has picked four wickets from five games with an economy rate of shade under 8 (7.98 runs per over).
The other spinner, Rahul Sharma, was hammered for 33 runs in three overs in the opening game and never got a look-in in the next four encounters.
Daredevils has a decent set of fast bowlers in Mohammed Shami, Jaydev Unadkat, Wayne Parnell and seamer all-rounder like Laxmi Ratan Shukla and Jimmy Neesham.
With two specialist spinners being the order of the day at the Feroz Shah Kotla, it looks like a good decision to include the 35-year-old Pakistan-born South African cricketer, who has 36 wickets from 13 Tests.
He has also played 13 ODIs, taking 26 wickets for the Proteas.
Mamata Banerjee calls Modi a 'devil', 'dangerous man'
Kolkata: The war of words between Narendra Modi and Trinamool Congress is getting bitter and dirtier. After Derek O'Brien's salvo, party chief Mamata Banerjee has now called Modi a "devil" and "dangerous man".
The Trinamool Congress has been lashing out at Modi after he targeted Mamata over the Saradha chit fund scam. Party leader and former quiz master Derek O'Brien had on Sunday stirred a hornet's nest by calling Modi the 'butcher of Gujarat'.
Mamata Banerjee on Monday further said that India will plunge into darkness under Narendra Modi;s rule. She added that if Modi came to power at the Centre, he will deport Bangladeshi immigrants in the country.
The TMC and the BJP have been at loggerheads ever since Modi took on Mamata at a rally in Serampore, West Bengal. During the rally, Modi accused Mamata of shielding the Saradha chit fund scam accused, alleging that she pocketed nearly Rs 2 crore from them in return for protection.
The TMC was quick to react as it dared Modi to prove the charges or else, apologise for the remarks against Mamata.
"Blood is still fresh in the hands of the butcher of Gujarat. If he makes personal attacks against (TMC chief) Mamata Banerjee, we can also ask tough questions," TMC leader Derek O'Brien said in an interview to CNN-IBN.
'Muslims only fear Allah, not Narendra Modi'
Muslim voters in the Old City in Lucknow know the decisive value of their votes, but are wary that their votes are divided, and that, they fear, will only help Narendra Modi.
Syed Firdaus Ashraf/Rediff.com speaks to Muslim voters in the land of tehzeeb and gauges their apprehensions about a Modi sarkar.
"Aap ka isme girami? (What is your name?)"
"Aap ka shugal? (What is your occupation?)"
These are not questions a journalist encounters every day.
Almost everyone in the Old City in Lucknow eyes you suspiciously if you ask political questions, specially ones related to Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party's prime ministerial candidate.
Although the city of Nawabs has a cosmopolitan feel today, there are pockets in the Old City where one senses the charm of the past.
The "pehle aap" (you first, sir) culture is evident as you stroll around, and many feel proud of retaining the Lucknowi tehzeeb.
One also comes across monuments of the Nawab era in these areas, including the tombs of the legendary Urdu poets Mir Taqi Mir and Khwaja Mir Dard, lying in a dilapidated condition.
A common grouse you hear is, "Asar-e-Qadima kuch karti hi nahi inke baare mein (the Archaeological Survey of India is not interested in restoring them)."
This may be the past of Lucknow, but today, in this part of the city, every Muslim voter knows the value of her/his vote. They know their vote will be very decisive to defeat Modi.
"The trouble with Muslims is that we have four choices to defeat Modi -- the BSP (Bahujan Samaj Party), SP (Samajwadi Party), the Congress and now the Aam Aadmi Party. But Modi's vote is not divided," says Mohammad Adeeb, a student at the Academy of Mass Communication, Urdu Centre.
Accompanied by three friends, Adeeb says, "The four of us don't agree on backing one party because we have different views. So how can Muslims all over the country unite and fight against Modi?"
Muslims in the Old City know for sure that anti-Modi Muslim votes will be split all over India and that is a big advantage for Modi.
Asked if they do not believe that Modi will bring development to the country as he is said to have done in Gujarat, Adeeb's friend Niyaz Ahmed intervenes, "I am from Champaran in Bihar. Nitish Kumar (the Bihar chief minister) has brought so much development to Champaran, but nobody talks about it. Why only talk about Modi?"
"We only had 4 hours of electricity in my village 10 years ago," adds Ahmed, "now there is 18 hours of electricity and still nobody talks about the Bihar model of development. I feel there is some conspiracy in the media as they only talk of Modi developing Gujarat."
"Modi will develop India for sure," adds Mohammad Zia, "but he will divide India permanently with his communal policies."
Muslims in the Old City are unwilling to forgive Modi's 'inaction' during the Gujarat carnage of 2002.
"Look at Sabir Ali from Bihar. No Muslim leader in India's history has been humiliated so badly as him. When you give entry to some Muslim leader in your party, then you must not humiliate him in such a manner," says Ahmed. "It was very shameful and Modiji did not do anything when Sabir Ali was sacked from the party within 24 hours. When the BJP does such things and Modi keeps quiet, then how can Muslims trust Modi?"
Last month, Sabir Ali resigned from the Janata Dal-United in Bihar and joined the BJP. After senior BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi objected to his presence in the party, Sabir Ali was denied membership of the BJP.
"If you take the history of the BJP, there was only one leader -- Atal Bihari Vajpayee -- who was secular. The rest of them including (L K) Advani just have a communal agenda," pitches in Badar Ali.
Asked if it is true that Muslims fear Narendra Modi, Badar Ali declares, "Muslims only fear Allah and not Narendra Modi. Who is Narendra Modi? It is Allah who protects us and it is only He who will take care of Muslims."
A passerby who refuses to give his name adds, "The BJP talks about development, but the reality of Uttar Pradesh politics is that people only vote out of fear or for sympathy. Development is never an issue in Uttar Pradesh politics. Mayawati developed the state very well in her tenure, but still she lost because the other castes got together with the Muslims to bring the Samajwadi Party to power."
Says businessman Vakil Ahmed Khan, "The BJP got 57 seats from UP in the 1998 parliamentary election. That happened because of the Ram Mandir wave and because Vajpayee's popularity was at its peak."
"Some opinion polls say the BJP will get more than 57 seats in 2014. I don't think that is possible. If that happens," adds Khan, "Narendra Modi will become bigger than Lord Ram and Vajpayee."
Adds his friend Syed Mohammad Iqbal, "The BSP is out of the picture for Muslims in Uttar Pradesh. Mayawati is keeping a very low profile in this election. So Muslims will only vote for the Congress or SP."
When asked if Muslims will stand by the Samajwadi Party in spite of last year's Muzaffarnagar riots, where the Samajwadi Party government failed them badly, Iqbal says, "Mistakes do happen, but the SP is still very much a pro-Muslim party. Under the SP government it is not easy for the police to file false case against Muslims as it used to happen under other governments."
Mohammad Anees, another businessman, feels, "The Muzaffarnagar riots happened so suddenly that the administration could not act in time and therefore things went out of control. One cannot blame (UP Chief Minister) Akhilesh (Yadav) for failing the Muslims, it was the bureaucracy that failed him badly."
"The Muslims of Uttar Pradesh have made up their mind," says Khan. "It is either the SP or the Congress. Whoever has the strongest candidate to take on the BJP, Muslims will vote for that party. And no way will there be a Modi sarkar in 2014."
Ramdev barred from holding yoga camps in Himachal, booked under SC/ST Act
Yoga guru Ramdev was on Monday banned from conducting yoga camps in
Himachal Pradesh. He was also booked in Maharashtra and Rajasthan under the SC/ST Act for his "honeymoon" remarks
targeting Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi.
The yoga guru, however, said he would move court against the curbs.
Ramdev alleged the government had pressurised the Election Commission to take
action, while accusing the Congress of "distorting" his remarks against
Gandhi.

'honeymoon' remark against Dalits
Known to be a supporter of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Ramdev had
said last week that Gandhi went to Dalits' houses for honeymoon and picnic. He
had expressed regret later.
In Himachal, chief electoral officer Narinder Chauhan said Ramdev
was refused permission to hold yoga camps on the directions of the EC, which has
instructed states to ensure that no political activity is allowed through
non-political programmes like yoga shivirs.
The permission to hold a camp in Kangra district on Monday was
withdrawn last evening. After reaching Kangra, Ramdev alleged the government was
stopping his yoga shivirs, "which are non-political", in an "undemocratic
manner".
Earlier, FIRs were filed against Ramdev in Lucknow and Sonbhadra in
Uttar Pradesh on Saturday over his remarks.

Two more FIRs have now been lodged against him in Nagpur and Jaipur
under Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribes (SC/ST) Atrocities Act.
In Nagpur, the police said offences had been registered against
Ramdev after a number of Dalit organisations, the NCP, the Youth Congress and
the AAP lodged a protest.
Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leader Ajay Patil lodged a
complaint at the Sadar police station on Sunday and submitted a video recording
as evidence. However, no offence was registered in this connection.
"We have requested the police station-in-charge to lodge an FIR
against the yoga guru immediately. If the police fail to take an appropriate
action, the NCP would launch an agitation in the city soon," said Patil.
Akhil Bharatiya Dhamma Sena, an organisation of neo-Buddhists,
burnt an effigy of Ramdev on Sunday evening at the busy Variety Square in
protest against his remarks on Dalits.
Bhim Sena, a Dalit organisation, too lodged a police complaint
against Ramdev at Panchpaoli police station, a pre-dominantly Dalit area in
north Nagpur.
"We have booked an FIR against Baba Ramdev. Now, we are
investigating the matter and would refer it to Lucknow for necessary action as
it's comes under the jurisdiction Lucknow Police," the police said.
Nagpur has a seizable Dalit population and Babasaheb Ambedkar
embraced Buddhism, along with half a million of his followers on October 14,
1956.
In Jaipur, a case under section 153A, 504 of IPC for abusing,
hurting sentiments and insulting people and 3(1) of the SC/ST Act was registered
on an FIR filed by a Rajasthan University student Ravi Kirad against Ramdev, the
police said.
Meanwhile, a Bihar
minister also filed a case against the yoga guru.
